ReplyDeleteI took a look at the flaeyc.org website. It's great to be able to have so many great resources at the click of a mouse. I can see that online training courses are easy to access from this site. In addition, I looked at some of the articles and noticed that there were many on the link between the quality of teachers and student achievement. This is a topic that has been discussed often in our state because many of the teachers working in early childhood don't have adequate knowledge of topics such as child development, teaching strategies, and developmentally appropriate practices, just to name a few. This is a national problem. The cost of college education in comparison to the wages early childhood teachers make leads to teachers unable to further their education or leaving the early childhood classroom for higher paying jobs once they graduate. I am happy that you enjoy your current position so much and that you are doing so well in it. Good luck in your future endeavors.
